I think... we're done.... I'm so sad...
B: So, the way you see it, humans have sex because, subconsciously, they want to keep the race alive and because it's some primitive need of survival?
E: There are a couple of things going on when people have sex, your brain releases a chemical during orgasm that compels you to have sex again.
B: So we're also addicted to the chemical and that's the reason we do it?
E: I think this and the fact that we are ultimately animals leads to the need to further the species, so we look for a suitable mate that meets criteria we have set up. Once we find the suitable mate, I think on some level, we hope to improve and further the species then there is the religion angle.
B: That's so unromantic...
E: Most religions frown upon the use of contraceptives, the idea isn't to protect children, (the thought of the 500 million sperm conceiving 500 million kids is ridiculous) the original thought was, if you have kids, you will teach them your faith and they will teach their children and so on. There for, outnumbering your enemies. I know it's not romantic when I lay it out like that... these are just my beliefs and opinions based on my experiences and studies.
B: That's the reason I find it depressive, because that's your belief...and I don't want to be with someone who has such unromantic point of view when it comes to being intimate with me... that's just hurtful...
E: Sweetie... I don't say stuff to be hurtful or callous...from what I've seen humans...are animals... and we all too often let the basic instincts take over. That doesn't mean that I don't love and adore you... it just means I observe human behavior.
B: But even if you don't mean to, you are being hurtful and callous. I don't want to be your suitable mate that will help you further your species... I don't want to be your addiction to a chemical reaction on your brain...
E: What do you want to be?
B: Why does it matter? No matter what, the way you see it, it will always come to that...
